We repair damaged teeth with three types of dental filling.

The most common of these are silver amalgam fillings.  They are hardwearing and last a long time.  Some people say they have side effects, but as someone who is exposed to them each day, Ian is convinced of their safety.  With billions of them around the world, they’re a proven solution.

If you prefer a closer match to your natural tooth there are white composite fillings. These aren’t as tough as amalgam dental fillings, so won’t last as long.

Ceramic fillings, or inlays, are both incredibly strong and can be matched to an exact tooth colour. They cost a little more to produce, but their durability means they offer better value over their longer lifetime.

We make our own ceramic fillings here at Arden House DENTAL using Cerec3, a specialist computer system that scans the tooth and cavity and then produces a ceramic filling that fits exactly into the cavity.  When bonded into place it’s the perfect repair.
