Here at Arden House we are delighted to announce our success as runner up in the highly acclaimed dental industry Infection Prevention and Control Awards.
The awards have been running for 3 years and recognise the commitment of dental practices to outstanding infection prevention and control. Principal Sarah Farrier, Practice Manager Katie Glancy and Head Nurse Kylee Smith attended the British Dental Industry Association Dental Showcase at the NEC in Birmingham on October 20 to collect the award.
What is Infection Prevention and Control
Put simply, cleanliness and hygiene really matter to people when they visit their dental practice. And it really matters to us.
At Arden House we have invested in a sterilisation room which includes a specially designed instrument storage facility, automated cleaning equipment and top of the range sterilisers. We ensure regular tests, checks and audits are undertaken to make sure all our equipment is performing correctly. Our nursing team is trained in all aspects of cross infection control including hand hygiene, waste disposal and instrument transportation. Because we care about the safety of our staff and patients we insist on the use of gloves, masks, protective aprons and eye protectors.
Why we are committed to Infection Prevention and Control
Sarah has said “Arden House has a long history of going well beyond the minimum regulatory requirements to ensure patient safety. All members of our team take huge pride in ensuring we meet the highest standards of infection control and everyone plays a role.”
And we’re thrilled that we have been recognised by Schulke and The Dentist, who sponsor the Awards. The judges praised our entry for “putting the highest standards of infection prevention at the core of everything the practice does”.
Time to celebrate with the whole team!
We celebrated with the whole team and a representative from Schulke at the practice on 25 October and the award now takes pride of place on our reception desk.
