Covid-19 update: July 24th 2020

We are OPEN to treat you safely within current professional and government guidelines. We are delighted to be able to see you again and thank you for your understanding regarding the extra steps we have introduced to ensure the safety of you and our team when you visit.

In accordance with the guidelines we continue to run a slightly reduced service, operating in 3 instead of our 4 surgeries for the majority of our time, in order to reduce the number of people in the practice at any one time, and ensure there is suitable staff support for the decontamination processes required. This might mean that in the immediate future you are offered fewer options to schedule your appointment.

We have been contacting patients who missed appointments or who have outstanding treatment, but following lockdown, there’s a few on the list so please feel free to call us anytime and book your appointment!

Our commitment to best practice and the highest cross infection standards remain a top priority at Arden House. For the immediate future, we have introduced a safety fee. This ranges from £6-36 depending on what your visiting us for. Members do not need to pay the safety fee for examinations with the dentist but we are asking all patients to contribute towards the added costs involved when having treatment. The rise is demand for suitable PPE has led to a huge inflation in cost, the regulations have also meant we have had to employ a new member of staff to enable the hygienist to have nursing support, the increase in use of PPE unfortunately also increases our waste, which we dispose of responsibly, again at an increased amount. Alongside our customary high levels of decontamination, due to the Covid-19 guidelines, we must also reduce the use of our surgeries following the use of any aerosol treatment. Other changes you’re likely to notice are becoming more customary, such as a screen at reception and the frequent use of alcohol gel.

On booking your first appointment since our re-opening, we will send you various forms, e.g. a medical history, electronically to complete prior to your visit, this can be done on a mobile, tablet or computer. There is an additional form specifically about Covid-19, and other information that we are required to keep up to date in order to treat you safely. We appreciate completing this can be a little lengthy and as such hope you are able to do so in the comfort of your home. Please let us know if you have any difficulty; if you would prefer to have our assistance, we are happy to help and ask if you could please arrive 15 minutes earlier than your appointment.

These processes keep our practice a safe and comfortable place for you to receive treatment. We hope as the national response and alert levels drop, that further guidance will mean we are able to reduce and ultimately remove the safety fee.
