Covid-19 Update: November 2nd 2020

The Prime Minister has announced that, from midnight Thursday 5th November, England will go into national lockdown until Wednesday 2nd December. However we wish to reassure you we REMAIN OPEN under Government and Professional guidelines.

The Prime Minister has stated that people are allowed and encouraged to leave home for medical appointments. The government is supporting medical services, including dental practices, to continue to carry out urgent and non-urgent treatments; this applies to ALL our dental services and so your care and any appointments you have will not be disrupted.

Please do follow us, @ardenhousedental, on our social media channels, Instagram and Facebook as an easy way to stay up to date and get to know us.

Our commitment to best practice and the highest cross infection standards remain a top priority at Arden House. Our COVID secure protocols are fully established and enable us to continue to treat you safely.

We continue to send our COVID health check questionnaire prior to your appointment via email, along with some more detailed information about what to expect when you visit. Please do let us know with as much notice as possible should you need to rearrange your appointment. We ask you not to attend if:

  • You or any member of your household are showing any of the signs and symptoms of COVID or had a positive test. (High temperature, Continuous and persistent cough, loss of smell and or taste).
  • You are self-isolating because you have come into contact with someone with yet undiagnosed symptoms or who has had a positive test.
  • You have been abroad to any country that means you are now in quarantine at the time of your appointment.

Since re-opening we have introduced a “safety” fee to contribute towards the costs involved in keeping us COVID Secure. There continues to be an increased demand and cost for suitable PPE, decontamination products and the associated responsible disposal of the consequential increased waste. Alongside our customary high levels of decontamination, the current guidelines mean we must reduce the use of our surgeries following any aerosol treatment. We have also employed additional staff and had additional equipment installed in order to meet and maintain best practice and comply with the guidelines.

We do not ask our members to pay a safety fee for consultations or those appointments that do not require the use of an aerosol; however we are ask all patients to contribute towards the added costs involved when having treatment, including with the hygienist. These safety fees vary, £6-36, depending on whether an aerosol treatment is required and whether you are to visit the hygienist or one of our dentists. We are transparent with our fees and hope in time these additional costs will not be required.

We request all patients wear a face covering to enter the practice and only remove it when requested by a member of staff, once inside the treatment room. We have alcohol gel available and will ask that you use it several times during your visit. You will of course notice that we too will be wearing face coverings when in your presence, along with our protective screen at reception. Although not required, we have now decided to introduce temperature checks for all our patients, as an extra step to keep everyone as safe as possible.

We continue to request, wherever possible, that patients wait in their car until we are ready for your appointment. This keeps the number of people in our communal areas to a minimum and helps keep everyone safe. We are fortunate to have a car park but appreciate that this gets busy.
Should you need to park on the road or on a nearby street, please feel free to give us a ring to let us know where you are, and we will either send you a text message or come in person to find you when we are ready.
We also continue to request where it is safe to do so that you attend alone for your appointment

We continue to thank you for your support and patience at this difficult time for all of us; your Arden House family is here for you if you need us. Please get in touch if we can help in anyway. We hope the united national response will mean we can start to move towards a more positive future. Please do contact us if you have any questions or concerns; we are happy to help.
