At Arden House we pride ourselves on our high standards of cleanliness and hygiene. We were delighted that in 2017 we received external recognition for our achievements when we were awarded runner-up in the prestigious Schulke Infection Prevention and Control Awards.
The Department of Health set minimum and best practice hygiene standards for all dentists to adhere to and here at Arden House we are committed to achieving Best Practice. We concentrate on cleanliness so you don’t have to.
We have invested heavily in our custom designed sterilisation centre where the management of clean and dirty instruments is tightly controlled. The centre includes a specially designed instrument storage facility (so clean instruments are not stored in the surgery), automated cleaning equipment so we don’t have to clean instruments by hand, and top of the range sterilisers.
Sophie, our Head Nurse, ensures regular tests, checks and audits are undertaken to make sure all our equipment is performing correctly.
We carry out a 6 month audit to assess the level of our cross infection process and we continue to score a fantastic 97% when measuring against Best Practice. This means that you can be confident that you are receiving the highest quality care.
All our team are trained in all aspects of cross infection control including hand hygiene, waste disposal and instrument transportation. We insist on the use of gloves, masks, protective aprons and eye protection as we care about the safety of our staff and patients alike.
If you have any questions about what we do, please ask Sarah or any member of the nursing team.
